Gain practical teaching skills and classroom experience alongside theoretical knowledge in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. You'll get advanced training in the theory and techniques of applied linguistics and have a chance to gain an internationally-recognised teaching qualification (TKT). You can also achieve professional recognition as TEFLi-qualified (certificate-level ELT qualification equivalent) based on criteria from Accreditation UK.

Translation Studies MA

Our MA prepares you for a career in translation, including audiovisual translation and localisation. You’ll learn how to use standard strategies, procedures and techniques, including industry-essential translation software in line with the European Masters in Translation (EMT) standards.

Funding opportunities

Applicants to master and doctoral degree programmes in linguistics at the University of 91Ö±²¥ can apply for University Studentships and a range of fellowships offered by external funders. We have an excellent track record of securing funding for our strongest PGR applicants.
